Our family moved to the Bethesda-Chevy Chase area of Montgomery County about a year ago and love our new neighborhood! We are about a 10 minute walk to the metro and downtown Bethesda. Our “essentials” – like Giant, Trader Joe’s, hardware stores, Apple store, Barnes & Noble, drugstores, 2 movie theaters, and most importantly, an array of well maintained playgrounds – are all just minutes away.
We’ve gotten our bikes out a lot more, pulling our young boys in a trailer. The Capital Crescent Trail is just behind our house, so we’ve used it to zip to downtown Bethesda, the Bethesda swimming pool, Farmer’s Market, and even to Georgetown.
We are also very impressed with the Town of Chevy Chase council. They do a really great job organizing regular services for the neighborhood like snow removal, leaf collection, etc. What I’m really impressed with are their green initiatives, like energy audit and improvements assistance programs, native canopy tree planting program, and water management.
We can really see ourselves raising our kids here and are excited to discover what other interesting places and activities this neighborhood has to offer. Hamet Toure
